Dining Out Near Lake Eola

Dining Out Around Lake Eola | Part 2

Relax Grill and Bar at Lake Eola

Relax Grill and Bar at Lake Eola is an open air dining spot on the north side of Lake Eola,  right by the swan boats. With a great view of the lake,  it is a nice little place to chill on a weekend or for happy hour while watching sports (they have multiple TV screens).  The prices  are fair,  particularly the drink specials,  so get the drunken Mickey (limit 2 per customer), which hits the spot. We also recommend the mediterranean platter, the house burger,  the grouper fish dinner, the shrimp stir fry or the shrimp po boy with piping hot onion rings!

Pizza at Lake Eola

Pizza at Lake Eola features the Chipotle-style assembly line where you choose your own toppings and watch your personal pizza pie masterpiece being made right before your eyes.  Choose from cool toppings like shrimp, arugula, sriracha, truffle oil (and all the regular pizza toppings) and many more before they fast-fire it thru the oven while you pay. Making your own pizza is so fun, and the decor is modern and casual. We highly suggest checking it out for a quick lunch or anytime you feel like the comfortable carbohydrates of pizza.

Eola Wine Company Downtown

Eola Wine Company Downtown is a great place to sip a wine (or beer) and people-watch near Lake Eola.  Come with some friends and share the popular mimosa flight, the bruschetta with multiple spreads, and maybe some tacos or a flatbread. If dairy is your thing their baked brie, their goat cheese and their cheesecake are amazing. The wine list is really nice, but the friendly staff is what is most inviting! It is very tranquil and great to relax. Try a glass of the Kiona Vineyards 2012 Cab/Merlot or maybe a Moscato from Oregon if you like the sweeter white wines.  Their Sauvignon Blanc Flight and Red-White Flight are seen a many tables.

Lake Eola Park is popular outdoor destination in Downtown Orlando, and if you are one of the many people taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings to walk, or to have  lunch, brunch, or dinner at restaurants near Lake Eola, we hope our seven super selections give you food for thought.

Dining Out Lake Eola

Dining Out Around Lake Eola | Part 1

As Orlando has evolved into a sprawling metropolis, Lake Eola has maintained its charm as a great place to take a stroll, feed the swans, rent the swan-shaped paddle boats, or to eat a nice meal at one of many local restaurants. Whether you are eating at a restaurant on Lake Eola, with lakeside views, or one of many fine establishments close by, you have plenty of options when considering where to eat near Lake Eola.

World of Beer

World Of Beer has the patio with the most beautiful view in all of downtown Orlando. The food is always tasty and the beer selection is outstanding. Be sure to try the German Pretzel with beer cheese dip, which is an enormous soft salty pretzel that is plenty for 2-3 people to share. The overall vibe is positive and lively. It gets very busy on the weekends and live music and great people-watching make this a local favorite. The beer selection here is awesome and they do have a full liquor license and fully stocked bar. If you go for Sunday brunch, then you can take advantage of great deals on bloody marys and mimosas, or you can cruise over on trivia tuesdays. You really can’t beat this central location overlooking Lake Eola, and after your beer, you can walk off some of those calories and enjoy the scenery.

Spice Modern Steakhouse

If you want a decent steak with great lakeside views,  Spice Modern Steakhouse has everything you are looking for in a restaurant on Lake Eola.  The view is tremendous while you munch on their tasty Cajun fries.  The bartenders are amazing, handling drinks and food with precision and in a very timely manner. The outside patio is covered, providing lots of shade. The brunch mimosa selection is nice, with peach, white grape, pineapple, or the traditional orange juice base with your bubbly. The baked brie is phenomenal, as well as the thick rib-eye done with a Pittsburgh char,  known as a “Black and Bleu,” or the petit filet mignon with a double serving of sauteed vegetables. Also consider the sashimi here. Go here for the view of the fountain and the ample wine selection, then walk around the lake before the park closes.

310 Lakeside

310 Lakeside is another favorite for interesting  “New American” cuisine and great views of Lake Eola and Orlando.  Daily lunch and dinner specials accompany the menu along with a late night menu and  signature desserts to round out your experience. Wonderful for a special date, business dinner, or a happy hour, many order the mahi-mahi, the fish & chips, the flatbread pizza or their popular stuffed burger with one of their awesome cocktails.  The restaurant is located on the main floor of the high rise office building so it naturally attracts many of the nearby business clientele. This is a great place to have an early dinner before attending events at the Amway Center, which is within walking distance (5 blocks) or if staying at one of the nearby hotels. Also consider the boneless Buffalo wings, chicken piccata (not on the menu), the filet mignon special and for dessert, a terrific key lime pie.

SoCo Thornton Park

If an exquisite dining experience is more important than views of the lake,  SoCo Thornton Park is an upscale choice nearby, for a Bar scene, Business meetings, a Romantic dinner, or  Special occasions. This new spin on southern fare is a gourmet experience with an outside seating area that allows dogs. This area is separate from another outside area where there is dog-free seating.  You don’t need to dress up, although some people do.  We recommend the scallops, their popular “chicken and dumplings”, the snapper, or the slow-roasted BBQ glazed pork belly for a melt in your mouth experience. For dessert, the potato chip-dusted chocolate cake is out of this world. You can dine here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch.
