Best Outdoor Dining Orlando

Best Eateries for Outdoor Dining Orlando

As unbearable as the Florida heat can be in August, it’s also a sad reminder that summer is coming to its inevitable end soon. So why not make the most of the time we have, right? When you’re living in Orlando, nothing beats dining under the stars in the fresh open air.

Orlando is home to many great restaurants! But rather than go through a bloated list, we decided to make it much easier for you to find the “right” establishment for you and your guests to enjoy the priceless summer nights! That’s why we have put together a list of our three favorite outdoor dining locations in Orlando to guide you in the right direction.

Let’s start with:

189 S. Orange Ave.

Kasa, is a (semi) upscale Tapa’s restaurant with a Japanese fusion-take on traditional Spanish recipes. For those who don’t know, Tapas literally means “small plates” in Spanish and these delicious savory dishes are are meant for sharing with friends, family, or even a “special” someone.

What we like specifically about Kasa, besides their amazing “Crab Cake BLT” and “Drunken Kobe Beef Brisket,” is their “Tasting Tuesday,” which allows you to sample most of the items on their menu at a discounted price. Also, their daily happy hour, which provides daily drinks specials and a decent discounted food menu is a win for those nights you just want to grab something quick.

If you are making plans to visit soon, we would recommend you do two things: (1) Definitely make a reservation, as they are known to get incredibly busy between 5-9 pm and, (2) be sure to get a table on the patio for the beautiful sunsets.

700 E. Washington St.

This place is the real deal! A no-nonsense, get your hands messy, barbecue joint that will make even the most highfalutin connoisseur tip his hat. Located in Downtown Orlando, Wildside blends barbecue regulars, like their exquisite “St. Louis Ribs” with more exotic items such as their “Gator bites!”

Wildside BBQ Bar & Grill is a place to take your buddies on a Sunday afternoon to eat great food, drink cold beer, and to watch a little football. Or it can just be a fun, casual place to meet new people. The patio is a little basic, but has a warm, welcoming feel to it. And when you’re eating bbq, you’re not really going for “upscale” decor anyways.

16 E. Dakin Ave.

“Homestyle food with an island influence,” is what Savion’s is known for. Chef Pouchon Savion takes his twenty years of culinary knowledge and experience and mixes it with flavors of his childhood to put a new spin on old classics. Taking staples like grilled salmon and pairing it with “spiced sweet potatoes” is just one the many eclectic dishes you can look forward to.

Not only is Savion a great place for eating outside, but every Friday local artist and jazz bands entertain on the patio!

These are just the few that topped our charts, due to how often we patron them. But we encourage you to get out there and see for yourself what Orlando has to offer. But do it soon, cause the Fall season will be here before you know it!

Altis Sand Lake’s Favorite Dog Parks in Central Florida:

Dog owners know the importance of having a well-socialized canine, thus making dog parks a great resource. A great dog park has plenty of space to run, explore and socialize, a safe environment with well-maintained grounds and fencing, a dog bathing area, and finally, a restrooms for humans. While Altis Sand Lake has a wonderful dog park right in its community, sometimes a road trip with Fido fits into the itinerary! This week’s blog is all about which dog parks in the area to explore with your fur-ever companion.

Paw Park in Historic Downtown Sanford– This beautiful space offers plenty running space under the shade of mature oak trees. The large trunk of a tree that fell during a past hurricane is a central feature in the park, with dogs always climbing atop it and running around it as they play.

Located just off of U.S. Hwy 17/92 in Sanford

Barkley Square Dog Park– If you’re in the mood for a real road trip, Barkley Square Dog Park is definitely worth the visit. Located on a sprawling 14 acres, this park provides dogs with a large, open fenced area with a clean pond in the center of it. A hill leads down to the water is a great spot for dogs to splash around chasing after balls tossed by their owners.

Located west of DeLand at 1010 N. Ridgewood Avenue

Gemini Springs Dog Park– This gorgeous area is both shaded and fenced right in the center of Gemini Springs Park. The natural surroundings create plenty of interesting places to explore within the 4.5 acres set aside for the dogs, there is even a small stand of trees inside the fenced area.

Located in Gemini Springs Park at 37 Dirksen Drive in DeBary

Fleet Peeples Park– This doggie wonderland is 13 acres of a sandy beach on Lake Baldwin, offering dogs a refreshing place to wade, splash and swim. When they tire of the water, they can follow a number of trails through a wooded area at the end of the park.

Located at 2000 S. Lakemont Ave. in Winter Park

Summer days spent with your fur-baby is time well spent, so why not head to a new dog park for the two of you to explore? Not only will it be good exercise, but it also promotes a more sociable canine!
