Did you know Orlando ranked as the best city in the nation for staycations?!
There are times when the daily commute and work week seems endless, thus giving ample time to dream of an amazing vacation. But you’re in luck because you’ve chosen to live in Orlando, so you do not have to go far for either adventures or relaxation. We’re talking about “staycations” here, and this week’s blog gives you three great examples of epic times right in your neighborhood.
- If a warm sea breeze is something you desire, then camping overnight at Sebastian Inlet State Park might be the place. An hour and 45 minutes away and one of the most famous surfing and saltwater fishing spots in Florida, Sebastian Inlet lets you stumble out of your tent and be on the sand in minutes to enjoy the three miles of gorgeous beachfront. If you decide to bring your canoe or kayak, there is easy access to the Indian River Lagoon, but there is also snorkeling, surfing, fishing, and sunbathing!
- Road trips are not always necessary to have a great time on days off from work. There are many places right here in Orlando that will suffice as a wonderful adventure. The Leu Gardens is a breathtaking spot to take a stroll and revel in the garden’s beautiful horticulture. It might be a great idea to bring a picnic basket or your bike for added fun, but there is also the East End Market, the perfect place to fill up on some fresh juices from Skye Bird, pastries from Olde Hearth Bread Company and other things to snack on from Houndstooth Sauce Company.
- If a lavish resort-style staycation is more your style, may we suggest a night or two at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. This 26 acre resort has 443 rooms with views of the nightly Disney fireworks! It also has Explorer Island, containing a huge resort pool, beach volleyball, outdoor movie screens, a lazy river, Splash Zone, a climbing wall, 2 waterslides and a video gaming center! Dang!
We feel blessed that we live in Orlando, since it is an amazing place filled with beautiful weather and exciting adventures. With all these “staycations” being right in our neighborhood, it allows the possibility of a new adventure every weekend!
